Harlingen Book Festival 2013
Noted Arkansas Writer Cara Brookins will be a featured speaker for the Harlingen BookFestival, Saturday, May 11. She has published four books, with her new Timeshifters series just accepted by Buzz Books. Brookins will preview and release information on her first book of the series, Mark of the Centipede, which will be released on May 14.
Cara Brookins is the girl you see with a book in her hand. If she’s not writing one, she’s reading or plotting one. This multitalented author has an artistic side and loves to build things with wood, concrete, clay, tile, and paper maché. She and her children even built their house from the ground up. Her day job is developing new computer software systems as a programmer analyst. She also enjoys scuba diving, swimming, riding her bike, listening to music, gardening, and spending time in the mountains. She is a true Renaissance woman who likes a little bit of everything and her writing allows her to express her interests. She is a member of several writing organizations regularly presents writing workshops for writing groups and schools in Arkansas. She has a generous heart and a charismatic personality that inspires young readers and aspiring writers.
